Registration

The PC2Me Server requires registration.

The Registration Wizard starts automatically after installation completes.

The registration topics are:

First time registration    Registration email and text messages    Your Registration Information

First time registration

To register PC2Me for the first time:

  1. In the Welcome screen, select I am a new user and click Next.

  2. In the Network Registration screen, fill out the information and click Next. You will be asked for:

    Field Description
First / Last name Type your first name in the first field, and your last name in the second field.
iPhone Cell Number Type your iPhone cell number. We will be sending a copy of your Activation Key to this number as a text message. Leave this blank if iPod Touch or International.

Note: this must be a real iPhone number. Other phone numbers will not work.
Email Address: Type a valid email address.

This email address becomes the key for your registration and cannot be changed.
Home Zip Code: Type the zip code of the location where this computer is based, if USA. If International, type: 00000
Your PC2Me Identity Type a name or nickname to use as the PC2Me identity for this PC2Me Server, such as William.

The identity is used when connecting to your PC2Me Server from the PC2Me Plus native app, and as part of the website address you use when connecting through Safari from the iPhone or another computer.

For example, if your PC2Me Server identity is William, you would use William as the identity in the PC2Me Plus native app, and you would connect to William.pc2me.net through Safari on your iPhone or other computer.

The identity must be at least 4 characters, including numbers and English-alphabet characters. Do not include special characters or punctuation, except that you can include single dash "-" characters. A dash cannot be the first character.

Regarding dashes: "abc-123-xyz" is acceptable (one dash character at a time). "abc--123" is not (two dash characters in a row). "-abc123" is not (leading dash character).

Note: each identity must be unique, so if someone else already used "William", you must choose a different identity.

  3. At this point, the Registration Wizard attempts to connect to the 1stWorks Registration Server to process your registration. If your firewall challenges the program p2mrg.exe, allow all access and permissions.

  4. In the Please review the following: screen, review your registration information, and click Back to make any changes, or Next to continue.

  5. In the Congratulations! screen, click Finish. If the Run PC2Me on Finish selected box is checked, PC2Me Server starts automatically.

We recommend that you keep a record of the Email Address, Identity and Activation Key for future reference.

  6. At this point, the PC2Me Server attempts to connect to the 1stWorks Network to establish your location. If your firewall challenges the program pc2me.exe, allow all access and permissions.

You are now ready to start accessing your desktop.
