WebCam DeLuxe Option

DeLuxe Webcam Support includes all the features of basic Webcam plus:

• Automatic activity alerts by SMS notification
  
  
• Automatic recording - screen image capture for sequences with motion, with audio if your webcam records audio.
  
  

You set the alert and recording properties in PC2Me Preferences. If you have multiple webcams, each camera has its own setting. Or, you can assign the same properties to all cameras at the same time.

Recordings are stored on your PC2M Server, in the CAMS Folder. See Recording FAQs

Note: each recording is a series of still screenshots, chained together to create a motion recording. The recording is not streaming video.

PC2Me Server Setup: Preferences

Right-click the tiny PC2Me icon and select Preferences.

Under Selected Webcam:

1. Select a webcam if you want to specify settings for that webcam only. If you want the same settings to apply to all webcams, select the all webcam option.
   
   
2. Check Motion Alert if you want to be notified when the webcam starts recording motion.
   
   
3. Configure Motion Settings to specify when and for how long to record. See Motion Recording Preferences.
   
   
4. Check SMS Alerting if you want to be sent an alert when a motion recording starts.
   
   
5. Configure SMS Alerting to specify where to send the alerts and how often. See SMS Alert Preferences.
   
   
6. Click Apply

Motion Recording Preferences

• Motion Settings
  
  These settings control when a recording starts, and for how long:
  
  

  Setting	Description	Example
  Max duration	How long to continue a recording (i.e., the largest string recorded).	30 seconds
  Idle Duration	Stop recording after this many seconds without motion.	10 seconds
  Interval	Interval at which the snapshots are taken, in 1/10ths of a second.	2 (2/10ths of a second)
  Trigger factor	How much of the image changes in order to restart recording.	5%

  
  
  
• Schedule
  
  You can schedule when to start and stop recording. Time of day is according to your computer time.
  
  

  Setting	Description	Example
  Start:	When to start monitoring motion for recording.	9:00:00 AM
  End:	When to stop monitoring motion for recording.	5:00:00 PM
  Exclude Saturday	Check to not monitor on Saturday.
  Exclude Sunday	Check to not monitor on Sunday.

  
  
  
• Outline Movement
  
  Check Outline Movement to have a line drawn around the area with movement, and select the outline option you want.
  
  
• Capture Audio
  
  Check Capture Audio if you want to record audio as well as visuals.
  
  

SMS Alert Preferences

Check the SMS Alerting box if you want to be alerted when a recording starts.

• Email Address
  
  Specify how you want the alert sent.
  
  

  Option	What to do
  By Email	Fill in the Email Address you want the alerts sent to.
  By Phone	Leave the Email Address blank.

  
  
  
• Time Between Messages
  
  In Time Between Messages, specify the number of minutes between alerts.
  
  

1. Open the CAMS Folder, select the date, select the image file.
   
   
2. Slide finger across the filename, and click the Delete button.
