Introduction

Welcome to the PC2Me Guide for Help and Reference information.

PC2Me provides remote control of your desktop* through the Safari web browser on your iPhone or iPod touch. All you need is a desktop, an iPhone or iPod touch, and the PC2Me Access Server from 1stWorks.

* Note: if you have multiple monitors, PC2Me provides remote control of whatever part of your desktop can be reached through your primary monitor, not your whole desktop.

PC2Me is provided free by 1stWorks Corporation in the hope that you will want to upgrade to the full-featured Files2Phones product, see Upgrade.

Overview

You install the PC2Me Access Server software on your computer, and leave it running. Then, you connect to your PC2Me Access Server through the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPod touch, and view or control your desktop* remotely.

Browser access is made to a unique web address that is assigned to your PC2Me Access Server at the time you install and register the software. The address is http://your-web-prefix.PC2Me.net, where "your-web-prefix" is unique to you.

For more information, see the topics under Getting Started and Installation.

Availability

PC2Me Access Server is available for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista 32-bit. There is no native Macintosh version, although we understand that users can run it on an Intel-based Macintosh under Bootcamp or Parallels.

PC2Me works with the iPhone and iPod touch. Some features are not available on the iPod touch.

For current system requirements, see System Requirements on the www.pc2me.net website.
