PC2Me Server Setup
You install the PC2Me Server software on your desktop, and leave it running.
See System Requirements.
Installing PC2Me Server
To install the PC2Me Server software:
- Download the installation program from http://www.pc2me.net/downloads.asp. We recommend that you choose to run the program from the website instead of saving it to your computer. If you do save it, the installer program is named p2msetup.exe.
- In the Welcome screen, click Next.
- In the Terms of Service screen, click I Accept.
- In the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next, or select another location for the PC2Me program files.
- In the Installation Completed screen, click Finish.
- The Registration Wizard starts automatically. During Registration, your PC2Me Personal Server Identity is created. PC2Me is automatically activated, and you get a copy of the 6-character activation key by email for your records. See Register for more information.
- At the end of the Registration Wizard, the PC2Me Server program starts automatically, and minimizes automatically to a tiny PC2Me icon in the lower right corner of your Windows taskbar.

Firewalls
The PC2Me Server requires continuous outgoing TCP access through any available port. This is normally provided by most personal routers and firewalls, as long as you permit access for PC2Me if challenged. Permit full access at all times, for all types of activity. See FAQ: firewalls.
You may be challenged to permit:
