Q: How do I enable Cookies and JavaScript on my iPhone?
A: PC2ME is very dependent on Cookies for security and JavaScript for speed of operation. By default, the iPhone has both enabled. If you have disabled them, simply hit the Home button, tap the Settings Button and select Safari and minimally set Accept Cookies to "From visited". Likewise, there is an entry to Enable JavaScript. You will need to re-boot the iPhone to change this within Safari. Hold the Home and Power buttons down together for 20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. After the iPhone
stabilizes, visit your PC2ME site to resume normal operation.
Q: How Secure is my PC's Desktop and Data?
A: PC2ME's developer, 1stWorks Corp. has made its name and 8-year reputation in secure conferencing, Hippa-level encryption, and Data Compression with several patents covering these areas. We have NEVER had an exploit of our product's data via the web. PC2ME's data are statefully encrypted & compressed partial rectangles of screen images. NO file data from your system is ever transferred by PC2ME. We can assure you that there are NO back-door passwords to your desktop. Your login password is protected by 160-bit SHA-1 cryptographic hash and only the hash is transferred between the systems. The VNS and Proxy TCP Connections are also fully protected against buffer overrun attacks. It would be hard to find a more secure system outside the Treasury department. Your Security is OUR Business !
Q: Once I can see my remote desktop on my iPhone, can I control the applications?
A: Yes, that's the power of PC2ME, your desktop, on demand, in the palm of your hand. To be bold, as of this FAQ there aren't ANY known PC applications that cannot be remotely controlled from your iPhone or Ipod touch!
Q: Can I install PC2ME on multiple PCs, do I need multiple licenses?
A: Yes, but you need one PC2ME license for each PC where PC2ME is concurrently running. By starting a 2nd PC PC2ME server with the same
identity, the 1st server will be automatically disconnected.
Q: Is there a Mac version of PC2ME?
A: PC2ME is a Windows application. Parallels, Inc., VMWare Fusion and Bootcamp have confimed its proper operation in their emulators making the MAC files fully available to you via PC2ME by putting a link on your PC's Desktop to the Files in the "Share".
Q: How do I uninstall PC2ME?
A: To uninstall PC2ME, simply open Add/Delete programs in Control
Panel or Programs & Features in Vista, locate PC2ME and choose Uninstall.
Q: What ports do I open?
A: See Connecting Online-Direct, with information about opening ports for the PC2Me and Files2Phones Servers. Note that opening ports is optional -- you can open ports to create a direct connection, or you can purchase a license for the PC2Me Server, which provides support for connecting through the 1stWorks proxy servers.
Q: How do I troubleshoot audio issues?
A: Audio is sent to the PC2Me Plus native app from the F2P or PC2Me Server on
your computer. See Troubleshooting Audio for info about troubleshooting
audio issues.
Q: What are my PC2Me Server license options?
A: After an initial free trial period, you have a number of options, ranging from free to purchasing a license. Please see My Options for information about the Files2PHones and PC2Me options, or Buy Now to order a PC2Me Server license.
Q: If I install PC2Me on multiple PCs, do I need to buy multiple copies of the PC2Me Plus native app?
A: No. You buy only one copy of the PC2Me Plus native app, but you buy a PC2Me Server Multi-Server license for each additional PC2Me Server that you want to control (i.e, not your PC2Me Plus native app "home" identity). Please see Multi-Server Option in the PC2Me Guide for more information.
